Hyundai is my new favorite vehicle manufacturer. They have come from the crap and completely redefined themselves. Car & Driver and other vehicle magazines can't write enough good things about them. Hyundai has really done it. They are now a real good car company.

I valet parked for a few hotels in town and really took a liking to Hyundai. I used to hate even the look of them, but now they are really fantastic looking, and not to mention, the best price in the world for a great car. Don't get me started on their 10 year 100,000 mile warranty either; I've been reading that you won't even need to use the warranty because they are built so well.

Ah, the beauty. This is the newest Hyundai, the "Genesis" coming in late 2008 and is set to compete with BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. Also, it's half the price!!!!!!!! Check it out (link)

Oh, my gosh this car is Bad A! We ordered barbecue from a place in town and served it to our residents. I think we had 75-85 people eat ALL the food in about 45 minutes. Amber and I have been really encouraged by the turnouts we've been having at our events. We love people and hope to have lots of opportunities to talk with others about Christ. After all, that is the reason we are here on earth.

If you don't know what Apartment Life is -here is a (link)
There website is kinda cheezie, but you'll get the idea.

These are some pics from last night. In the third pic, behind the people smiling, you can see the line for food was out the door. The line was out the door and wrapped completely around the community room until we ran out. Wait, I am listening to it while I'm typing and I just ran into some crap. Let me skip this. Okay, now it is back to the good guitar playing. He may be some Phil Keaggy rip off, I'm not sure. I confess, I love to figure out any occasion to fit beer in. Just when you finally get some grasp on how you are going to pay for this unbelievably expensive education, you walk to the bookstore, add up All the books you may or may not need (because the teachers can't decide on teaching the same way, so they all have different requirements), the bookstore clerk tells you the price , and before you can faint, you mess yourself in front of thirty some students, who are already freaking out. Brisk wind? Nope. Maybe more? But, there is some information that could keep this problem from happening again.

The internet, of course, is the place to buy All your books. I went to the school bookstore to get a Used book for a new class I'm taking, and it was only $20 dollars off the outrageous new price of $100. What a crock. There must be a better way, I thought. So, I went on the internet, looked on Amazon, Ebay, and half.com, and found the book I needed for class used for the low, low price of $17.50. Justice.

Now, while I am walking in the halls at school, I often find myself instructing other freaked out students how to fight back against these overpriced, one-use books.

What about buyback? I promise that you can get a better price from an actual student buying your books online than you could get from your local college rip off store.

Diggable.

(I realize diggable is not a word. Thanks though.)

I like blogbarger's style of posting music. I can't do that yet, but here are diggable newbies.

Amos Lee- First off is my new most listened to artist. I overheard his music at Starbucks one day. He is classified as blues/folk, which is also one of my new favorite styles of music. Specific track-Arms of a woman

Without Gravity- My good friend (to keep him anonymous I will call him) Blane Shoberts turned me on to this Icelandic band. They are a refreshingly mellow and rock out a steel guitar on some tracks. I am not sure how you would classify this band's style, and I think that is why I like them. Specific track-Country

Aqualung- This is just a new find for me. They fluctuate between mellow and a little harder, yet somehow the music is relaxing. Specific track- Strange and Beautiful

The Killers- I like all their CD's. Enough said.

Mat Kearney- Christian artist pulling a Jars of Clay sneak into the secular world, yet still have hidden Christian lyrics and a fantastic sound. I already know what you are thinking about this one, it is that I love golf so much why not put it in school. But, I also see the potential of growing kids' minds through this game. Already I've come to a few thoughts of his style of writing/thinking: first, I think he may fall on the thought of "Relativity." and may not realize it (ironic) , Second, After reading Doug Searle's blog post(My Theological Nest), I think Doug is right about parts of tradition and I think this book, sort of, makes all who think in traditional thought patterns of writing (which I think Donald Miller means life overall ass well) is something that needs to be completely reformed. Not that I completely disagree. Then, what about the churches and christians that do "it" right? Always the question I have from this type of book.

Maybe this is the bad side of my brain, or maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the pill, but this style of writing is very cool and all, except it has an even better chance of coming off as completely arrogant. It seems to feed a group of people that need some reason to dislike their traditional thoughts of how the church "should work." What?!

I do not have the whatever-brings-them-in (to church) mentality. Maybe this is why I don't necessarily agree with all the thought patterns in this book, so far. I mean if we want lost people in church so bad, lets cut to the chase--FREE BEER!!!!!!--- This will bring more lost folks and the Cool/Modernistic theologians into the church than anything else, Guaranteed!

Let me know your thoughts..

A quick praise.

-Praise God for spell check.
This is probably the best invention for this vocabularian and wordy reject. I think just in these few sentences I've misspelled a bunch. I just misspelled, misspelled. Dummy. It is possible that, due to genetics, my fingers are so fat (phat) that I hit too many keys at once. Not sure.Though, thanks to spell check I don't feel quite like the monkey I tend to portray ,while showing of my fancy typing-not looking at the screen until finished- professional method. I call it "the typing no look." And yes, I did learn some of this fantastic art from my father, the " one finger swirling wonder", where it stops no one knows art form. Thanks Pop.
